Fresh from a nation wide tour playing the music of Gershwin and Porter as well as recent festival appearances paying homage to the classic Oscar Peterson album ‘Night Train’ and the music of Fats Waller, Ben Wilcock and The Jelly Rolls have concocted a flavoursome brew.
Fusing harlem stride, boogie woogie and a touch of Garner-esque 50s swing, The Jelly Rolls comprise of The Troubles front man John Rae on the drums, Twinset’s Dan Yeabsley on the double bass, and taking centre stage Ben Wilcock on the piano.
This is no tribute show, this is great tunes played in a way only the Jelly Rolls can.
