Humankindnesss play the original songs of Steve Mitchell – contemporary Rock & Soul music.
It’s music that is easy to enjoy, but hard to define. Warm and welcoming, but bristling with passion and adventure.
The band’s reputation for powerful, inventive live shows has grown steadily since their successful hometown debut at last year’s Jazz & Blues Festival.
Humankindness blend rock, soul, singer-songwriter, blues and funk elements into a distinctive sound. Hook-laden acoustic songs share the set with tough infectious grooves, intense high-wire twin guitar trips, and classy pop melodies.
The current album Humankindness is Steve Mitchell’s debut and was released at the band’s appearance a The Nelson Arts Festival in October. The full live band is now recording for a series of follow-up releases.
Humankindness feature Steve’s soulful slide guitar and abstract breaks, the explosive blues, jazz and rock style of lead guitarist Glynn Olsen and the fluid, perpetually inventive powerhouse drums and bass of Bruce McGregor and Danny Sugar.
Elisha Hobbs – vocals/guitar/keyboards, Steve Mitchell – slide guitar, Glynn Olsen – lead guitar, Bruce McGregor – drums, Danny Sugar – bass
